As we move toward higher standards for virtual production, there are lots of things we can do to increase the quality of a event without going into full studios. Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) is one of the best and quickest ways to do that.
SRT is a type of streaming signal that has error correction built in and allows for higher quality connections without necessarily having better internet. As we move into more hybrid events, it also allows us to bring in terrestrial studio camera feeds and merge them with home or office contributions in an effort to control consistency in quality.
SRT is also great for international events. Imagine having a presenter in the virtual studio from Japan with the same quality as someone based in the U.S. and being able to time out their feeds so that they enter the studio at the same time. This, along with many other advantages, is why we’ve been using SRT in our Esports events, and we’re now bringing this technology to our corporate events as well.
