Shutter Encoder

In this three-part series of cool apps, we’re featuring one we like that is cross-platform. Shutter Encoder is a nice little program that can give you lots of information about a file and can play it back in a dedicated player. You don’t get much control when you’re playing it, but you can see the actual file in its native codec. You can view information about the file and even transcode it to anything that FFMPEG supports. Of course the best part is that it is available for both Mac and PC.
